Hello! Welcome to becoming a fitter, stronger and better version of you!
My name is Mel and I am a personal trainer and weight-loss coach with a passion for helping you to reach your fitness and weight-loss goals. I take a holistic approach to fitness which takes into consideration your sleep patterns, stress levels, lifestyle and nutrition.
I completed my PT qualification back in 2009 at the age of 37 and bounced into the industry by setting up my own outdoor group fitness and personal training business in the Illawarra region. I also qualified as a massage therapist at roughly the same time and have worked in both industries on and off over the last 10 years. I became a personal trainer for my own interest because I had started to lift weights in the gym and I wanted to learn more about what I was doing and why! I was always fit and played some kind of sport all my life, but as I hit my late 30’s I wanted to look strong and so strength training became my go-to exercise option.
My passion is strength training and functional movement. Training sessions are designed to build strength in a safe and effective way that will help you to move better in your everyday life. Modern-day living has us spending a lot of time at computers, so it is important to stretch and strengthen the body to balance this out. Being strong is great, but being strong and flexible is more functional and help you to avoid injury and keep moving well.
I know that the thought of strength training can be intimidating for many, so I use training equipment that is user-friendly such as sandbells, suspension gym and resistance bands. These kinds of tools allow the absolute beginner and seasoned athlete alike, to train in a safe and effective way.
Along with building strength and improving flexibility, I have a passion for helping people to lose weight and improve their lifestyle so that they can reach their full potential. I have the skills and training to deliver an effective weight-loss plan that will see you reaching your weight-loss goals as well as learning how to keep the weight off for the long-term.
I really enjoy training people of all ages, with a keen interest in helping women over 40 who are wanting to stay fit, healthy and vibrant as they head towards midlife and beyond. I believe that strong and healthy ageing is absolutely possible and I live by this philosophy myself.
Getting older is no excuse for letting ourselves go! You can be fitter, stronger and better, no matter what age or ability level you are starting at today.
