I am sure there are a few of you out there at the moment starting to struggle a little with your exercise program and the colder part of the year, let me reassure you the below article will keep you HOT and on track to achieving your next goal before its all over and warmer weather is upon us once again.
Options for Exercising
• You can exercise indoors at home, the gym or at work
• You can exercise outdoors too
Motivation Maintenance
Think about how you will feel if you keep up your exercise routine throughout the cold-weather seasons. Exercise can help shake those winter blues and even cold & flu’s. It will improve your state of mind, increases your energy levels and help you sleep better at night. Does that all sound too good to believe?
Well how about I add once more? You'll be in better shape when the warmer weather arrives all ready for summer.
Exercise adherence ideas for colder months
Try to set aside 30 - 60 minutes at least 5 days a week for your exercise routine, if you already have time set aside then try to stick to these times and don’t adjust things too much during the colder months as this could throw you off track. The real trick is to stick to what you having been doing and remember Rug Up & Warm Up, as we tend to be a little tighter over this period therefore increasing the risk of injury if we don’t maintain basic exercise adherence.
• Warm Up 1st
• Stay Hydrated
• Wear layers
• Go indoors instead of outdoors if needed
• Listen to music
• Remember to stretch as often as possible
• Stick to your program
• Reward yourself
For extra motivation, work out with your FIO trainer more regularly as this may be what is required to keep focused and look great when the warmer weather rolls into town. |
